What to Expect
Along Your Journey

At Grove Hill Anesthesia, we prioritize your safety and comfort throughout your procedure. Understanding the clinical process can help ensure a smooth and stress-free experience. We’re here to support you every step of the way along your journey toward a healthier smile.

Where to Begin

Your Path Forward

Ask your dental provider if they work with a Grove Hill Anesthesia Doctor to find out more about our services. If your dental provider has not worked with us before, please direct them to our For Dental Offices page to take your first steps forward.

We’ll plan your care with your dental provider. You’ll receive a welcome email with additional information and patient forms that need to be completed. We may also need to coordinate care with your medical providers.

Once your care plan is confirmed, we can schedule your appointment. The Pay My Bill page covers how to arrange payment, so we can proceed with care. We’ll call you within 3 days of your appointment to review your pre-anesthesia instructions and answer any questions you may have.

Next Steps

Day of Your Appointment

The pre-anesthesia instructions are important to help keep you or your loved one safe. Be sure to follow the doctor’s directions on when to stop eating and drinking before surgery. Plan to have a responsible adult accompany you or your loved one to the appointment and remain available during and after care. For children, this must be the parent.

During the appointment, we'll be by your side to guide you throughout the entire process. You or your loved one will be monitored by a board certified dentist anesthesiologist to provide comfort and follow the standards for anesthesia care.

After the dental procedure, we continue to monitor you or your loved one for a safe recovery. The accompanying adult will take you or your loved one home, be there to help as needed, and follow the post-anesthesia instructions.

At Home

After Your Appointment

You can relax knowing you’ve completed a major milestone on your journey to a healthier smile! Plan to spend the rest of the day relaxing comfortably at home. Most patients begin to feel back to normal by the end of the day or the following morning. We recommend waiting until the following day to resume your normal activities.

If your dentist or surgeon prescribes medications after your procedure, be sure to take them as directed. Your accompanying adult will also receive a copy of the post-anesthesia care instructions to follow. If you have questions or concerns after your procedure, please contact your dentist or surgeon.
